Prison Intervention Program

Subhiksha+ is one of the world’s largest HIV-TB interventions for incarcerated populations in India. It is being implemented in 2,407 facilities (1,350 prisons and 6,97 Other Closed Settings) in 730 districts, across the 37 States/Union Territories and aims to reach 18,86,092 inmates.

GSNP+ is implementing Subhiksha+ Program in the state of Gujarat, UT Diu, Daman and Dadara Nagar Haveli as Sub recipient. SHAATHII is Principle recipient of this Global fund supported program.

Goal and Objective of Program

Goal: Support national program to reach 95-95-95 fast track targets, of ending AIDS among inmates in prisons and OCS

Objectives:

Accelerate HIV testing from 24% to 70% among 2.9 million* (approximately) incarcerated individuals

Increase linkages of HIV+ inmates to care and treatment services from a current proportion of 79% to 100%.
